# Pricing Overview

## Overview

DeerAPI uses usage-based billing. Costs depend on the selected model, request type, input size, output size, and provider pricing rules.

## Review live pricing

Use the [live pricing page](https://api.deerapi.com/pricing) as the source of truth for model availability and pricing. Avoid hardcoding old prices in applications or internal runbooks.

## Cost controls

* Choose the smallest model that meets the quality requirement.
* Set client-side limits for tokens, image counts, video duration, and concurrency.
* Monitor usage logs after deployment.
* Rotate API Keys and disable unused keys.

For account-specific billing questions, contact support from the DeerAPI dashboard and include the transaction or request reference.
